Eating junk food raises the risk of depression according to multi-country study. This is of course not that surprising to anyone with a bit of common sense. But of course we do like to see scientific validation.

Analysis of 41 studies leads to calls for GPs to give dietary advice as part of treatment.  Those who follow a Mediterranean diet are much less likely to develop depression because a diet rich in fruit, nuts and vegetables  is shown to be beneficial against mental health problem, the research suggests.
